Changes to the Competition Calendar

As a result of changes to AWF calendar of events for 2019, it is also necessary to effect changes to the state competition calendar.

The changes that the AWF have announced are:

• The Australian Senior Championships will now take place on 19-20 October 2019
• The Australian Open has been postponed until February 2020.

The change of date for the Australian Senior Championships has made it necessary to change the date of the Cliff Joyce Memorial Tournament. This event will now be held on 7 September in combination with round 6 of the Presidents Cup. It is not yet known whether the Cliff Joyce Memorial will be held in Launceston or Hobart.

Qualification Standards for Tasmanian Championships

The Board of Directors of Weightlifting Tasmania met on 30 March and determined that the appropriate qualification standards for Tasmanian Championships are as follows: 

Grade I : Qualification standard for Tasmanian Seniors 

Grade J: Qualification standard for Tasmanian U23 Championships 

Grade K: Qualification standard for Tasmanian Junior Championships
