Presidents Cup Round 6 (Open Weightlifting Event)

Southern Region - Align Fitness / Weightlifting Academy of Tasmania, 110 Mornington Road, Tasmania
Northern Region - Crossfit Levitate, 120A Invermay Road, Invermay Tasmania
This event is known as the "Split Round" as the Presidents Cup is divided into two events that run simultaneously on 07 September. When you sign-up to this event, it will be assumed that persons domiciled in the north and north-west will compete in the northern region event, and persons domiciled in southern Tasmania will compete in the southern region event.
Who can enter?
Open to members of the public provided you have completed and returned the "Single Competition Membership Application" form and paid the $45 entry fee by the deadline (see below). The form provides the return address.

How to pay entry fee
The payment of all entry fees is via the website of Weightlifting Tasmania. Look for SHOP on the main menu and then select "WTI Competitions". When you see a list of competitions:
Non-Members should select:
- "Non-Member Entry - Please Specify Competition in Special Instructions" ($45.00)
Members of Weightlifting Tasmania should select:
- "Pres Cup Rnd 6 (Split Round) - 07 Sep 2019" ($30.00)

The competition schedule
Here is the preliminary competition schedule for Hobart.
Session 1: Women, Weigh-in 7:50-8:50, Start 9:50
Session 2: Men, Weigh-in: 9:45-10:45, Start 11:45
Session 3: Women, Weigh-in: 11:30-12:30, Start 13:30
Session 4: Men, Weigh-in: 13:00-14:00, Start 15:00
The Launceston competition looks to have only one mixed session of 11 competitors, depending on the availability of persons to officiate. Time will be announced. If there are insufficient officials, the two competitions may be merged.

Guidelines for Competitors
The expected standard of dress for competitors who are new to Weightlifting competitions is that clothing must not be loose, and that elbows should be clearly visible. These rules allow referees to adjudicate appropriately. If a T-Shirt and shorts are worn, the T-Shirt must be tucked in. Tights may be worn, with or without shorts over the top.
Competitors who are regular participants in competition should wear competition apparel which abides by the International Rules of Weightlifting. This means wearing a lifting costume.
All competitors should be aware that the maximum width of a Weightlifting belt is 12cm.
The competition format will follow the 'ascending bar principle', as normal. This means that competitors choosing the lightest weights go first, and the bar only goes up in weight during the course of the session.
