Weightlifting Tas is proud to announce a cohort of 10 athletes who will be representing our state at the 2017 Australian Under 15 and Youth Championships.
Competition for this weekend will take place as a split round, with a separate competition underway at either end of our beautiful state. In the South at, the Weightlifting Academy of Tasmania and in the North at, CrossFit Levitate.

We would also like to take this opportunity to thank and acknowledge the efforts of the previous board members who have stepped down at this years AGM as well as through out the year.
Their hard work and fantastic job and have allowed the new board to hit the ground running in 2016.

Attached is a notice of a Special General Meeting scheduled to occur at CrossFit Levitate after the conclusion of the club competitions on 19 March 2016
This meeting is to discuss and vote on proposed changes to the current constitution to ensure that the Association continues to operate in an efficient and effective manner in accordance with the constitution.
It is with regret that the board is announcing the resignation of Leo Isaac as President and a board member of Weightlifting Tas. The board would like to express our appreciation for the guidance, knowledge and experience that Leo has brought to the board, and wish him well for his future endeavours. Leo has kindly offered to continue assisting the board with specific tasks and duties and we will see him around the lifting platform. In the interim Mark Brown and Christine O'Malley will be acting President at board meetings and selected events.
31 Lifters turned out to commemorate the Memory of Chris Chugg.
With 14 State Records and 3 National Records broken, the field turned out a massive result of 32 Personal Bests to open the 2016 Tasmanian Weightlifting Season!
